AUTHOR PROFILE

Debut author--my first ever book presentation.  Conversation, cupcakes and champagne at Tattered Cover Bookstore.

Voted Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers Writer of the Year for 2021-22, Sue Hinkin was raised in Chicago and is a former college administrator, TV news photographer, and NBC-TV art department manager. She was also a Cinematography Fellow at the American Film Institute.

Her debut novel, DEADLY FOCUS, a thriller featuring Los Angeles TV news journalist Bea Jackson and her BFF, photographer Lucia Vega, was a 2018 International Book Award finalist. The second book in the series, a Reader’s Choice winner and Silver Falchion short-lister, LOW COUNTRY BLOOD, is set in Savannah, GA where Hinkin was a Dean at Savannah College of Art and Design. THE BURN PATIENT was released mid-pandemic and recently won the Foreword Indies award for best mystery from an independent publisher and the Colorado Humanities Center for the Book Award for Best Thriller of 2020. THE MERMAID BROKER was released in 2021 and was awarded the Colorado Authors League award for Best Thriller.
